Taking on the Titans

Enough reveling in the glory of beating the hapless Dolphins. The Titans are coming to town and if you think they’re impressed by the Browns 2-1 record, think again.

The Titans (2-1) barely lost in Week 1 to the Jaguars, 16-14, then bounced back in a big way to beat the Ravens in Week 2, 26-13.

This past week, they were able to eke out a win against the Broncos, 17-14, after losing wide receiver Kenny Britt to a knee injury.

Tennessee has been riding the success of Britt so far this season, so it’ll be interesting to see how they do without him. Sunday, they played sloppy after Britt was carted off the field, but Matt Hasselbeck was able to rally for the win.

Britt, who came in to Sunday’s game leading the AFC with 271 yards receiving, left the stadium wearing a brace on his right knee. He only said that his status is “limping” as he walked by reporters.

Hasselbeck managed to find some other alternatives as the game went on, including Craig Stevens, Daniel Graham and veteran receiver Nate Washington, who caught eight passes for 92 yards and a touchdown.

Without Britt, the Titans will rely more on Chris Johnson, who already isn’t having a very good season. He’s had games of 24, 53 and 21 yards rushing in his first three games since signing a $53 million extension.

Will Sunday, against the Browns, be the day he breaks free and returns to form? I hope not.

Go Browns!

Rocco the Blawg Pound Mascot says:
"If it's a close one,
and it goes to OT,
I hope Hasselbeck
will call the coin
toss."
