There's a chill in the air and thousands of people will be heading to the stadium in downtown Cleveland today. That can mean only one of two things: Either the Browns are playing, or it's Indians Opening Day!
Yep, it's Tribe Time and today, in honor of Opening Day, I'm taking a break from taking football in The Blawg Pound.
Don't get me wrong, this is and always will be a Cleveland Browns fan blog, not a Cleveland sports blog. Cut me some slack today, though. I mean, it's freakin' Opening Day! It's the one day of the year when you can be excited about the Indians!
Of course, I happen to be heading to the Jake (yes, it will always be the Jake to me) this afternoon for the game, so that adds to my excitement. I even recently watched Major League, which only got me more pumped for some Tribe baseball.
And, while the group who was lobbying to get Charlie Sheen to throw out the first pitch was unsuccessful, there is another grassroots effort to have a Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn statue erected in Cleveland. Sounds like a good idea to me.
Go Indians!
